Artist Call Out for Large Scale Public Artwork


Murrumbidgee Local Health District invites professional artists to complete an Expressions of Interest (EOI) form for their artwork to be considered for locations within the Wagga Wagga Health Service campus. 

Located on the lands of Wiradjuri People, the NSW Government’s $431 million new Wagga Wagga Health Service (WWHS) Hub is a facility which opened in May 2021.

MLHD invites professional Artists to submit their qualifications and relevant portfolio of artwork to be considered to undertake artwork for identified locations situated within the Wagga Wagga Health Service campus. The proposed artworks will offer a dynamic visual experience whilst creating a sense of calm to staff, patients’ and visitors alike.

2023 Regional Artist Development (RAD) Residency Program at Wagga Wagga Art Gallery


Applications for Wagga Wagga Art Gallery’s 2023 Regional Artist Development (RAD) Residency Program are NOW OPEN.

The program is open to artists living across the Riverina region and focuses on the development and mentoring of regional artists. Recipients (3) will be provided with a spacious studio environment at Wagga Wagga Art Gallery to pursue their arts practice, plus a $2000 stipend.

In addition, Wagga Wagga Art Gallery is partnering with Earth Canvas to offer (1) artist residency on a regenerative farm and studio residency. This is open to artists living across regional NSW and is an opportunity for an interested artist to extend their engagement with themes of healthy landscapes, soil, food and a healthy planet. The recipient will receive a $2000 stipend with an additional $500 to assist in meeting accommodation costs.

Temora Shire Art Prize


The Temora Art Prize, an initiative of the Temora Shire Council, is on again! With $5,000 in prize money, this Art Prize is a celebration of artists of all levels and mediums. Culminating in a month-long exhibition, you can browse the artworks free of charge and may even find a piece or two you would like to buy.

Opening night: 7 October 6:30PM

Spirit of the Land Lockhart Call for Entries

In 2006 the Spirit of the Land Lockhart Festival was born and farmers were encouraged to use their skills to enter a farm art sculpture competition.  The Festival has grown over this time to attract high calibre artists nation wide.  The Spirit of the Land committee is once again calling artists throughout Australia to participate in the Spirit of the Land Art Festival 2022, with a prize pool of over $20,000.

‘Intention to Exhibit’ to be submitted by 23 September 2022.

F.Stop Workshop @ Wagga Wagga Art Gallery: Future Photographers Lab

The Future Photographers Lab continues the strong tradition of new photographic practice emanating from the Riverina.

This ten-week lab will be presented by Dr James Farley and Mr Patrick Ronald from F.Stop Workshop as part of their residence at Wagga Wagga Art Gallery with an aim to inspire and support the next generation of local photographers.

The Future Photographers Lab will support four emerging photographers; Molly Burley, Brittany Hefren, Tayla Martin and Ash Smith.

Activating Wagga Wagga Art Gallery’s new Project Space, the Future Photographers Lab will be an evolving process of creation and critique, with each artist chronicling the development of new work in situ. There will be regular opportunities to meet and discuss work-in-progress with the artists, mentors, peers, and public. There will also be a complimentary series of talks exploring the practice of contemporary photography in Wagga Wagga and beyond.

Weekend Workshop: For Artists by Artists


Graduate of the Renew Wagga program, The Little Yellow House Gallery & Studio will be hosting several guest speakers from the Australian art world discussing subjects like pricing, mindset, what galleries are looking for and how to approach them.

They will also be covering online galleries, how to use them, photography, packaging, couriers, commissions and creating your own profile, social media and marketing, art law and copyright issues, selling your art and a lot more.

You will come away from the weekend with a ton of practical information about the art business and a new, reenergized creative mindset.

New Renew Business
Unique State Art Space Preview


U/S is a new printmaking and art therapy studio in Wagga Wagga, set to offer workshops, social groups and 1:1 art therapy sessions. 

Local artist Elaine Camlin is opening doors to the new space as the latest participant of Renew Wagga this month.​

We will have light refreshments available, stock and workshops will be on sale, stay to draw a still life, and experience what Unique State hopes to offer our creative community.

Spring Exhibition Launch


This Saturday Wagga Wagga Art Gallery is launching their Spring Exhibition Program – a series of five exhibitions celebrating diversity and inclusion in creative practice from the local to remote communities.

The suite showcases, Land Marks - Wagga Wagga Art Gallery’s collection prints from remote First Nations Communities of Central and Northern Australia, Utopia Batiks from the Tamworth Textile Collection, collaborative work between local artists and The Art Factory artists in 8 More, a behind the scenes glimpse inside emerging Riverina photographers studio for the Future Photographers Lab, as well as immersive exhibition by Wagga-based artist Georgia Crowden in Sink Forms.

RAF Quick Response Grants

Regional Arts Fund, Quick Response Grants are now open! Rounds are assessed at the end of each month with applicants eligible to receive $3,000 for individuals and $5,000 for organisations. Open until Nov 30 2022 >
