Announcing 2022 CASP Recipients
Eastern Riverina Arts is pleased to announce the 13 successful recipients of the 2022 Country Arts Support Program.
To support our region's creative recovery, this year Eastern Riverina Arts doubled Create NSW’s funding pool, contributing an additional $17,000 to CASP funding for our region.
A total of $34,000 will support the development of ambitious and original creative outputs, projects and collaborations across the Eastern Riverina Arts service region.
2022 CASP Recipients
Individuals - projects that ‘level up’ an artist’s practice or professional development
Elaine Camlin
Printmaking Professional Development - Make an Impression ($750)
Elaine Camlin will attend practical professional development at Megalo Print Studio (Canberra) in October 2022 to provide new skills and processes for Make an Impression, a printmaking project funded by Riverina Water.
Samantha Phillips
Professional Development - BIGSOUND Conference Attendance ($750)
Samantha Phillips will attend the BIGSOUND Conference, the southern hemisphere’s biggest music industry gathering, which is being held in Brisbane on 6 - 9 September 2022.
Darren Cooper
Seek Gym ($750)
Aboriginal muralist Darren Cooper, developing mural skills. A local seek Gym has provided a 3.7meter x2.6-meter wall for a black and white image and orange tone to be constructed. The method will demonstrate shading and two-dimensional technique of a male and female workout session, posing and flexing physique.
Georgia Crowden
Professional Development and Screen Printed Exhibition Catalogue ($545)
Georgia Crowden will receive professional development from a local female artist to prepare, print and hand bind an exhibition catalogue in Wagga. This catalogue will feature works from her first major solo exhibition. The collaboration will encourage self financial sustainability and allow her to gain new skills.
Christina Reid
Perpetuum ($750)
Christina Reid will seek training in order to further develop her photography skill-set to enable her to expand her screen-printing capabilities. The project will culminate in an artist talk to printmaking students at TAFE NSW Wagga campus.

Temora Historial Society
A Coo-ee to Marie ($3,955)
A relatable, inspiring story of ambition, success, resilience, empathy including live performance, animation and projection mapping. The purpose is to instill a community sense of attachment to Marie Narelle, Bundawarrah Centre and the significance of resurrecting historical stories, gather and share new skills for future community events from celebrated mentors.
See Me Hear Me Theatre
The Planet Man - Stage 3 Podcast ($3000)
To produce an accessible podcast of all three episodes of The Planet Man, including:
an Auslan interpreter
a videographer to record the Auslan interpretation
a producer to create and oversee the podcast

Riverina Community College
Boost drawing and printmaking power up! ($3710)
Art Factory studio artists will provide six sessions of drawing and printmaking techniques to NDIS participants. In these sessions, artists will create a series of still-life and portraiture drawings, creating monoprints and dry point etchings. The works will cumulate with professional artist portfolio and exhibition at the RCC Art Gallery.
Aunty Lorraine Tye & Sue Clancy
Animation of Wiradjuri story: Gobbagumbalin and Pomingalarna ($4000)
For Aunty Lorraine Tye and Susan Clancy to create an animation of local Wiradjuri story, Gobbagombalin and Pomingalarna, as an integral part of the Wirramari (working title) Exhibition to be held at the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery from 05/11/2022 in the main gallery space.

Poetry in Print ($3900)
Poetry in Print is an artists program that pairs local poets with printmakers. Five poets and five print makers will come together to create 5 collaborations that will celebrated in a limited edition book.
Freeroam Theatre
Freeroam Theatre 2022 Season - Picnic at Hanging Rock ($3800)
‘Picnic at Hanging Rock’ written by Joan Lindsay, adapted by Tom Wright is Freeroam Theatre’s second production of 2022. This show will be taking place at CSU Riverina Playhouse from 24th- 26th November 2022. This is a predominately female production with all cast and crew identifying as female.
Vanessa Keenan & Nat Ord
Mid Stories ($4000)
Creative development and presentation of multi-artform pieces developed in response to the exploration of native forest regeneration following the Black Summer fires. The artists will dissect and interpret the regeneration process through photography, solargraphy, video, soundscapes and other media.

Memorial Water Tank Art ($4000)
Transforming the Water Tank which will connect with our Eco-Cultural Garden and reference historical WW2 Pilot training, the first Aboriginal Pilot and our Migrant Camp.
