Join us as we dine alongside the famous portraits from the 2022 Archibald Prize exhibition, for a fundraising event hosted by Friends of the Gallery & Eastern Riverina Arts. Hear from 2022 Archibald Prize winner Blak Douglas, who will join us as the guest speaker.
The evening will include the opportunity to bid on and secure original artworks from a range of well-known and emerging artists. Funds raised will support the important work of Eastern Riverina Arts directly supporting local artists and Friends of the Art Gallery acquiring new works for Wagga Wagga Art Gallery.

Local artists are getting creative with the theme 'Mental Health' for the Breaking Through Art Exhibition!
All funds raised will be donated to Rural Outreach Counselling as part of the 2023 Thomas Bros Wagga Wagga Takes Two. A chosen mental health charity supported by Luke and Matt Olsen.
Smalls and Talls canvas artwork will be available to purchase on the night, with larger paintings up for auction starting at 7pm. The night will also feature local artist live painting within the studio.

| | The Alchemist’s Jar - World Premiere
What will you find in The Alchemist's Jar? It's a story long forgotten, which has not yet been told.
Based on 'The Stone Jar' by Christopher Halburd and original illustrations by Tracey Jones, this mesmerising concert is inspired by medieval Egyptian shadow theatre (khayal al-zill). It combines classical and contemporary live music with beautiful shadow puppetry. Directed by Associate Professor Sam Bowker of Charles Sturt University, featuring the voices of Melinda Bowker and Erin Brown, and live chamber music by the Assai Quartet of the Riverina Conservatorium of Music.

Opening the festival will be the Australian coming-of-age film SWEET AS! Award Winner at Toronto International Film Festival, SWEET AS was shot in the stunning WA outback and features a road-trip-worthy soundtrack of all-Indigenous artists.

| | Halfway Print Fest 2023
Come on down to the 5th Halfway Print Fest, April 1st at Thirsty Crow Brewery. It is the final event under current Directors, Adele Packer and Kate Allman and set to be a huge, fun send-off.
For the last 5 years, local, regional and interstate zine makers and DIY publishers have come together to connect, share their work with festival goers and inspire other creators. The Fest celebrates all things printed and independently made including “zines” (pronounced zeen), photo books, printed artworks and ephemera.
Transforming Thirsty Crow’s Brewers’ Den into a print emporium, artists from the Riverina and the big smoke will be in attendance. This year also includes a line-up of music featuring The Secret Migraines (Melbourne), Hearts and Rockets (Melbourne), O.R.C. (Melbourne) and That Geraldine Chick (Wagga Wagga).

Evicted! A Modern Romance is a fresh and topical Aussie comedy that follows four housemates on the verge of eviction in Sydney fraught rental market, looking for a new place to call home. It takes a satirical look at today’s housing and job market and the hilarious trials and tribulations that come along with it.
The film was independently financed and winner of the audience choice award Sydney Film Festival 2022, and has screened at CinefestOZ and Brisbane international Film Festival.

F.Stop Workshop and Wagga Wagga Art Gallery are seeking enthusiastic young artists to participate in HERE NOW - Photobooks for the Future.
This is a photography and exhibition project all about home.
Participants will learn about contemporary photographic practice, experiment with film and digital photography and produce an exhibition of zines and photobooks to show at Wagga Wagga Art Gallery.
Everyone between ages 13-18* with an interest in art and creativity is welcome to apply. Enthusiasm to learn is essential, but no previous knowledge of photography is required. *Ages 18-25 are welcome, but priority will go to younger applicants on this project.

| | Joyce Spencer Textiles Fellowship
Submissions are now open for The Joyce Spencer Textiles Fellowship, supporting a regional NSW textile artist or collective to deliver a new artwork or exhibition.
One fellowship will be awarded $4000 to a mid-career artist or group to assist in achieving their project outcome.
One mentorship opportunity will be awarded $500 to an emerging artist to assist in achieving their project outcome. They will also receive a one-hour mentorship session with a suitable senior textile artist.
