The C Word: Craft in Response to Gender and Representation Associated with production and practicality, situated primarily in the home and domestic life, Craft has historically been “feminised” and its value as an artform diminished. “The C Word: Craft in response to gender and representation” invites local female artists who work in craft and design to respond to the marginalisation of craft through new work that seeks to explore craft’s longstanding association with the feminine. ‘The C Word’ Exhibition Launch 🗓  Friday 8th March 5:30-7:30pm The Station Creative Workspace Please RSVP below. RSVP Craftivist Workshop with Jacquie Tinkler and Peita Vincent For too long, Craft has been “feminised” and its value as an artform overlooked. It is time craft in all its many forms and styles is placed front and centre, and its historic role in women’s political activism and social change recognised. Council is seeking to commission the production of artwork by a local Wiradjuri/Wiradyuri Artist. The 17 signs to be updated are spread throughout the Marrambidya Wetland, located along the edges of the walking trails, mounted to steel angled posts and share information about Wiradjuri/Wiradyuri culture and the wetlands.
