A Message from Executive Director, Tim Kurylowicz

“After 5 years in the Executive Director role at Eastern Riverina Arts, I will be moving on!

It has been the role of a lifetime leading such a dynamic and effective non profit organisation. Eastern Riverina Arts is delivering projects that boost vibrancy, liveability, prosperity and tourism appeal in every corner of the Riverina.

As well as our core work driving collaboration and support for the arts and creative industries, we've led some incredible strategic projects. A 50 day, 50 event bushfire recovery festival, a project reviving traditional Wiradjuri canoe making techniques, and enabling small towns in the Riverina and beyond to access performing arts tours are all big highlights.

The transformation of Wagga Wagga's historic Ambulance Station into The Station Creative Workspace is a labour of love that the present team and board deserve lasting acknowledgment for. No one will ever know how hard Ashleigh, Brittany and Remy worked to make this happen. The idea that this pioneering cultural institution can become a self-sustaining enterprise of Eastern Riverina Arts, anchoring creative business and cultural production for the whole region for years to come, is not yet guaranteed, and this will be just one of many exciting challenges for my successor to work on.

The organisation has an exciting strategic vision, solid finances and an exemplary staff and board. It's exactly the right time for a new leader to bring new passion, connections and skills to take Eastern Riverina Arts into a productive and fruitful next chapter.

I'm very excited to have been appointed as Manager of one of the Riverina's cultural jewels, Museum of the Riverina. My present priority is ensuring a smooth transition here and I will remain at Eastern Riverina Arts until mid April to support the recruitment and induction of the next ED.

I can't begin to express my gratitude to the artists and creatives, the creative organisations and festival committees, the council staff and community volunteers that I've had the pleasure to work alongside.”
