View this email in your browser Happy May from ERA! As you may have seen on our socials we relocated our office into Wagga's historic Ambulance Station last month! We are still working through some planning and logistics as we transform the building into a fully functioning Creative Workspace but we are glad to be in the building and already hosting professional development opportunities within the space. Here Now & Always: 25th-29th of May ‘Here Now & Always’ is an initiative of the Aboriginal Regional Arts Alliance. It celebrates and showcases, Aboriginal Arts and Culture from New South Wales to a global audience through an annual program of activities and an online festival program and art market. Four artists from the Eastern Riverina Arts region will have works for sale in the online art market - Aunty Kath Withers, Ashleigh Pengelly, Debbie Wood and Rebecca McGuinness. Regional Futures - Artists in Volatile Landscapes Artists in Volatile Landscapes is the culmination of 18 months creative research undertaken by 30 artists from across NSW (including guest artists from Western Sydney) who have responded to the question, ‘What does the future look like in your region?’ presented at Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre, Jul 22, 2023 - Jul 22, 2023. Congratulations to Juanita McLauchlan who is the artist representative from our region! Check out Juanita’s creative development for the project. Alongside the exhibition launch, an artist-led symposium brings together experts & critical thinkers across different sectors, community members and activists to discuss and grapple with this question. The project is an initiative of the NSW Regional Arts Network under the banner of ‘Regional Futures’ and funded by Create NSW. RETURN: Reconnecting objects and collections with people and places Museum of the Riverina are excited to announce that from June 27-29, in association with the Australian National University, they will be hosting RETURN. Over 3 days, hear from Indigenous people from across Australia, including university-based researchers and museum professionals, who collaborate on projects to return objects, knowledge, and decision-making to local communities and groups.
