Eastern Riverina Arts Cultural Tourism Content Boost

Project Background

Eastern Riverina Arts (ERA) has received funding through Create NSW to develop and increase Audiences for Creative activities and products in our region. We have allocated $30,000 towards this project, which is focussed specifically on the Cultural Tourism sector. Cultural Tourism, in this context is simply defined as arts and cultural experiences and attractions that have tourism appeal.

Much of the cultural gold in the Riverina has yet to be promoted in a compelling way.

The purpose of the project is to generate a suite of high-quality photographic marketing images (video content will also be considered) and accompanying marketing copy that aid the promotion of arts and culture attractions and experiences across the Eastern Riverina Arts service region. Our service region encompasses the local government areas of Bland, Coolamon, Cootamundra-Gundagai, Lockhart, Junee, Snowy Valleys, Temora and Wagga Wagga. These images/videos will be retained by Eastern Riverina Arts, provided to the operators themselves, and to relevant cultural and tourism promotional libraries (eg Destination NSW) for use in promoting the cultural attractions of the Riverina region.

This project will help cultural attractions, many of which are volunteer-run, be presented in a way that appeals to visitors. It’s about more than professional visuals though – this is a project that requires research, engagement and storytelling. It’s about unearthing local hidden gems, and creating stories that compel visitors to take a detour and explore the Eastern Riverina. Whether they be incredible historical artefacts held in museum collections (did you know Phar Lap’s saddlecloth lives in the Gundagai museum?), or unique creative experiences that only happen here.
