Renelle Harrison’s Sacred Ground comprises an array of works featuring abstract renderings of the internal landscape. Works are the 'painted songs' created along a journey through unexpected, yet sacred, paths; a journey of leaning into mystery and undoing, and a deepening practice of compassion for self and for others.
Inspired by the ever-changing hues of the Riverina landscape on Wiradjuri Country, particularly the Kyeamba Creek Valley and surrounds near Ladysmith, and the artist’s memories of the horizon growing up in remote NSW on Wongaibon Country, the horizon and the landscape are an ever-present metaphor for the inner terrain we all journey through.
Experience the wonder of beauty and how it undoes us in the very best ways.
