CLAY WORKSHOP: Carve a Minimalist Style Wall Hung Tile

  • The Station Creative Workspace 54-58 Johnston Street Wagga Wagga, NSW, 2650 Australia (map)

In this 2hr workshop, potters will guide participants through the process of designing & carving a decorative, rectangular wall hung tile - prompted by the Potters' tile display in the Gallery.

With classic vase forms as a focus theme, choose to freehand draw a design or utilise vase shaped templates to create a minimalist, relief style layout. Using tools provided, add texture and pattern to your forms or some punchy text into your design for some fun. Once your carving is completed you can choose to add a discreet opening, allowing you to display single, thin stemmed flower/s or a small spray of foliage. Afterwards the tiles will be slowly dried, & kiln fired - transforming your clay creation into a ceramic piece, ready to adorn your wall.

The fired works should be ready approx. 6 wks later, for collection from the Wagga Wagga Potters Club on Tarcutta St
