Hand: Held: Hold Exhibition

Hand: Held: Hold presents works in progress developed by local artist Elaine Camlin during a 6-week residency as part of the RAD Residency Program at Wagga Wagga Art Gallery.

Working across cyanotypes, monoprint, drawing and watercolour the works created explore a shift in scale, with an experimental and responsive approach to materials and subject.

The exhibition provides an opportunity for visitors to be witness and respond to an artist's process, with works being further developed over the duration of the exhibition.

About the Artist

Elaine Camlin is an arts practitioner based in Regional NSW. Elaine holds a BA (Visual) (Printmedia & Drawing) from ANU School of Art, BA (Honours) (Communications and Creative Industries) from CSU and Masters of Therapeutic Arts at The MIECAT Institute.

Her practice brings together a passion for printmaking and community engagement. Elaine is an active contributor to the creative arts landscape in the Riverina, developing and facilitating accessible programs to foster creative communication and well-being. In 2022, with support from Renew Wagga Elaine launched Unique State Art Space, a community printmaking and art therapy space.

Elaine sustains her art practice by exhibiting in group and solo exhibitions locally and interstate and is an active member of the printmaking community, having participated in print exchanges and projects: Imaginings, Overwintering Project, Human Emotion Print Exchange, Pandemic Print exchange, Northern Beaches Artist Book Prize, Peebles Print Prize, Common Ground Print Prize.
