School may be out but that doesn’t mean the learning has to stop!
Check out some of the art and creative workshops designed to keep the kids entertained and engaged over the busy holiday periods.
1. Creative Hub
Back with a fully schedule of holiday activities, Create Hub has a range of workshops to cover a range of interest. From Drama classes to a guide tour of the Wagga Art Gallery, there’s a little bit of something for everyone.
Workshops range from $35 – $50 with times changing per each activity. All workshops include snacks and supplies but old clothes or smocks are highly recommended.

2. Aschulme Textiles
Aschulme Textiles run a number of weaving workshops especially designed for kids. Children have their own floor loom for the morning to work on and create a unique woven piece which is theirs to take home after the class. During the full day workshop children can sew their piece into a bag or cushion, or continue to weave on the loom. Classes run from 10am-12pm or 10-3pm and cost $45 per session for 1/2 day or $110 for full day.

3. The Secret World
A free digital and experimental live art tour is coming to Cootamundra! Hosted and created by young people from across the region, expect to be immersed in a colourful universe of curious creatures and quirky stories. Audiences will explore Cootamundra by foot discovering interactive art installations and performances while piecing together the untold stories of young people living in the Riverina.

4. Music in the Museum
Head a long to the Broadway Museum in Junee for an afternoon of music and jamming. This free event is open to all levels of musicians. Music in the Museum will start at 11am and musicians are encouraged to come along and play.

5. Tumut Art Society
The Tumut Art Society are once again going a head with their popular school holiday programs. Sign up for a day full of felting, paper marbling, ceramics and much more. The workshops are suitable for participants aged from 7 – 14 years old. Each session costs $25 and time vary depending on the activity.

6. Youth Fest
The team at the Coolamon Shire Library are organising a dance in the Ardlethan hall to make sure the last night of the school holidays go off with a bang! Featuring DJ Static, a silent disco and an acoustic stage, this event will be one the kinds won’t want to miss. Entry is free with food and drink for sale at the venue. The event will run from 6:30pm – 9:30pm.

7. Temora Youth
Back by popular demand, this FREE workshop will see participants work with Kim Sandgren and Kim Nicholson from local band, 1979, working on a popular song and performing it as a group at the conclusion of the workshop.
