Continuing on from last year’s in-school workshops, the Talking Trash program will culminate with a video competition for local high school students.
Students will have an opportunity to attend one of the information sessions/animation techniques workshops that will be delivered in each of the REROC local government areas. Then, entrants will produce 15-30 second animations highlighting messages about reducing, recycling or reusing waste. These short clips will demonstrate the students new knowledge not only in animation, but also in responsible waste reduction and reuse.
Entries must be submitted by August 18. Please submit entries via Vimeo at talkingtrash.space.
There will be one overall winner chosen by a panel including representatives from ERA, REROC and the local filmmaking community – the successful individual will win an iPad! A people’s choice award will be awarded based on the most views and likes on the Facebook page. Any entry that meets the criteria for the project will be published on the Talking Trash Facebook page and website. Downloadable links for the films will be available to REROC councils.
