The MultiStory Project Launch

Multiple people, multiple cultures, multiple voices, multiple stories. The Multistory Project is an exciting new initiative celebrating the creativity and diversity of the people of Wagga Wagga. The MultiStory project will be officially launched by Senator, the Honourable Kate Lundy, Minister for Multicultural Affairs on Monday April 16 at the HR Gallop Gallery, Charles Sturt University at 1pm.

The MultiStory project is an innovative project that seeks to use arts and cultural activity as a means of promoting inter-community harmony. Over the course of the project a Community Producer will be working with a wide range of people to develop skills in digital media production. Through workshops and short projects the producer will generate and assist individuals and communities to create content for a digital portal that will document and celebrate our diverse community.

The launch will include the unveiling of the website, www.multistory.com.au, performance and dance, as well as an exhibition of photographs by CSU student Shona Pratt documenting the recent Harmony Day event Everyone Belongs.

The MultiStory Project is an Eastern Riverina Arts project and is funded by the Australian Government Department of Immigration and Citizenship through the Diversity and Social Cohesion Program. The Australian Government is committed to addressing issues of cultural, racial and religious intolerance by promoting respect, fairness, inclusion and a sense of belonging for everyone. The Government believes
that strong social cohesion is best developed by projects that bring all Australians together and in particular create connections across the community.
