Eastern Riverina Arts awarded $813,000 for Wagga Wagga Ambulance Station Creative Workspace

Eastern Riverina Arts are overjoyed to have received two very significant grants to help us fit out and activate the Wagga Wagga Ambulance Station into a bustling creative workspace and community venue.

Minister for the Arts Ben Franklin announced the $813,000 funding, which was made up of $250,000 from the Creative Capital program to transform Wagga's former ambulance station into a Creative Industries Hub, and $563,000 under the Stronger Country Communities Fund to fund the ‘Open Doors at The Ambo program’.

The hub will facilitate ambitious artists and creative companies to collaborate, generate work and grow. With space for artist studios, creative suites, a gallery and performance space, this hub will spark innovation and nurture a growing creative industries sector for the Riverina region.

The funding will give ERA the ability to fully staff and establish creative programs and events for the first three-years, which will help jump-start the utilisation, engagement and community impact of the hub.

Through this project we are working hard to create a space that supports the generation of original creative work, supports emerging creative businesses and provides new opportunities for artists and the community to gather and connect.
