Please welcome Snowy Valleys artist, Jennifer Forster, to the Window Gallery!

On this piece, she said, “‘Billabong I’ is the starting point for a series of paintings making comment and tracing the waterways of the Snowy Valleys region. It depicts the lifeblood of rural properties, winding its icy cool waters through the paddocks. It fills other pockets of low lying areas with water and sits beside the inland billabongs that glow red from algae and plant life. Fallen trees litter the area and the tracks of cattle surround and meander through the dryer area of the lagoon. This is the patchwork of my regional existence on Cockatoo Road, Killimicat.”

Jennie has been painting professionally for seventeen years and teaches both drawing and painting. She also curates the 5Ways Gallery in Tumut.
