Jeff Donovan and Friends set to enchant audiences in Tumbarumba

Wagga Wagga based classical guitarist Jeff Donovan will perform in Tumbarumba Sunday July 21st at 2pm. With guest artists Marie-Cecile Henderson (mezzo-soprano) and Brett Thompson (flute), Jeff will present a program of music including works by Ralph Towner, Gentil Montana, Benjamin Britten, Richard Charlton and Carlo Domeniconi.

Jeff Donovan has a Bachelor of Arts (Music) with a major in classical guitar from the Canberra School of Music. After working with renowned Australian teachers Sadie Bishop and Tim Kain, he won a Jacobena Angliss Music Award in 1985 to undertake further studies in Spain with Jose Tomas in 1985 - 1986. He has performed in masterclasses for John Williams, David Russell and Leo Brouwer and performs regularly in Wagga Wagga.

The concert program was devised as part of the Riverina Conservatorium of Music’s 2013 Concert Series. It is presented in Tumbarumba as a result of an exciting partnership between the RCM and Eastern Riverina Arts. This partnership will allow some of the concert programs that are presented in Wagga Wagga by the RCM to also be presented in Temora, Cootamundra or Tumbarumba during the year.

The Tumbarumba performance of Jeff Donovan and Friends will be held at the Wenoma Studio, Artists on Parade Gallery, on Sunday July 21st  at 2:00pm. The performance will run for approximately 60 minutes with no intermission. Tickets are $25 Adult $20 Concession and $5 Students. Tickets can be pre-purchased from Artists on Parade and will be available at the door.

Both concerts have been supported by the NSW Government through the Arts NSW Regional Conservatoriums program to promote and develop professional music-making in regional NSW.
