Hayley Kotzur, Emancipation series, 2014

On her practice, Hayley said, “My work explores the process of being set free from social restrictions or bonds. ‘Emancipation’ is the freeing of one’s body and spirit from the bonds that prevent us from being the person we are meant to be. The clay is used as a representation of the world’s expectations as they build up to form a mould around whom you are meant to be. The dispersion relates to Wayne W. Dyer’s quote, “You are an infinite spiritual being having a temporary human experience.”

See her work in the window until the end of February.
