Gregory Carosi is one of the Riverina’s fastest rising stars. Since moving to the region in 2015, Carosi has had an impressive exhibition history, including currently exhibiting as a finalist in The Churchie National Emerging Art Prize, QUT Art Museum, Brisbane. He was recently awarded a residency by Country Arts SA at Grindell’s Hut in the Flinder’s Ranges. The residency will inform work in his upcoming 2020 exhibition, Dead Reckoning, at the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery.
Other solo exhibitions include:
2018, Cut/Copy, Alternating Current Art Space, Melbourne, VIC
2018, Expanse, Gallery 43, Wagga Wagga

2016, From there to here, Wagga Wagga Art Gallery.
Of course we like to claim that it was his exhibition in our Window Gallery that has been the secret to his success.

About the painting
Axis 13 was exhibited in the prestigious Calleen Art Award 2017, Cowra Regional Art Gallery, where Carosi was a finalist.
“Axis 13 offers a tectonic treatment of the space between figuration and abstraction, concentrated through the lens of my relocation to regional NSW. Working from the perspective that all abstraction is landscape, Axis 13 challenges the idea of line as horizon, exploring instead the notion that, especially in inland areas sustained by river and irrigation systems, line is more accurately thought of as incision.”
