Since moving to Wagga in 2012 she has spent the year preparing for her first exhibition 'Solitude'. Working from her studio, Amy’s uses predominantly charcoal and ink on canvas or paper. Whilst having experimented with many mediums, she has always been drawn to charcoal, with its heavy, textured and unforgiving line. “In my work I explore my own curiosity for the face, its landscape and its storytelling. Frequently I crop the features in an up close, confronting way. In doing so I intend to break down the disconnection between viewer and subject allowing the viewer to be invited fully into their world. I hope to bring this experience to the audience of this, my first exhibition of works”
