Get on Board – call for Treasurer

Expressions of interest for the position of Treasurer are being invited from suitably qualified and/or experienced people to join the Board of Directors of Eastern Riverina Arts.

Eastern Riverina Arts enriches, inspires and connects our region by fostering arts, culture, creative industry and community.

To be eligible to apply, you must reside in one of our member LGAs, an Accountant with professional designation and a minimum of three (3) years experience in the field (preferred). Previous board experience will be considered an asset.

This volunteer position is available immediately for a period of two years, with an opportunity to renew for another two years.

Treasurer Duties:

  • Collaborate with the Board in developing short and long-term financial goals, that complement our strategic planning
  • Assist the Board in mitigating financial risk
  • Ensure ethical financial policies and practices are in place
  • Work with the Executive Director and bookkeeper on the annual budget and financial statements
  • Ensure the organisation complies with tax regulations, such as GST, payroll tax and fringe benefits tax
  • Educate the Board in understanding the financial matters and overall financial performance of Eastern Riverina Arts
  • Act as signatory on bank accounts and act as final approval on payments
